Since its start in 2018, the Breaking Barriers Program has supported over 100 young people with learning disabilities and employment barriers. Graduates have earned certificates in Applied Business Skills from the University of Strathclyde Business School and Applied Science Skills from the Science Faculty. In 2022, the program expanded to Edinburgh Napier University’s Business School, where 21 students graduated with a Certificate in Applied Business Skills.

Breaking Barriers has successfully placed graduates in organisations like Barclays (as Graduate Apprentice Accountants) and the Scottish Government (as Policy Officers). Graduates have diversified their career paths, securing employment and additional training in filmmaking, paramedicine, cybersecurity, financial services, digital music, and fashion. An impressive 90% of young people continue to achieve positive progressions into further employment, education, and industry training after graduation.
