Why Inclusion

Living in your own place. Having friends. Making your own choices. Being good at something. Belonging.

All people share these ambitions. But people with intellectual disabilities face segregation, and their family members isolation. They aren’t allowed to have the life they want.

We want to change that, and we will.

What needs to change for people with intellectual disabilities.

What's the goal

We work for Europe where people with intellectual disabilities enjoy equal rights and fully participate in all aspects of life.

Rights and Belonging

We stand for full rights and inclusion.

We work for Europe to finally end segregation of people with intellectual disabilities, and isolation of their families.

Europe where people with intellectual disabilities:

  • Enjoy equal rights and full participation in society.
  • Make their own decisions, including voting and legal matters.
  • Live in the community, with the support they need.
  • Learn in mainstream schools, have a job, and are respected.

Europe where families can be families – not carers, therapists, administrators…

Europe that listens to and acts on the concerns of people with intellectual disabilities and families.
