Inclusion Europe Board meeting March 2025

Inclusion Europe Board meeting took place on 10 March, online.

The Board reviewed our recent work, and discussed some short term plans:

Good reflection on the high-level event at the European Parliament in December last year, dedicated to Inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

Appreciation of the work done by our members in Ukraine, as part of a project finished this February.

Disappointment that our work supporting self-advocacy and deinstitutionalisation in Eastern Europe cannot continue right now as the project was terminated by the US State Department.

Invitation for all self-advocates in Europe to participate in Hear our Voices! self-advocacy conference later this year. “We need you to make changes happen! We want self-advocates’ voices to sound strong in Europe.”

Welcoming 2 new membership applications to join Inclusion Europe as members of the European Platform of Self-Advocates.

Preparing the General Assembly which takes place 3 – 4 June in Berlin, together with a number of workshops and study visits for Inclusion Europe members. The General Assembly will be electing our new president.

After the Board meeting, Milan Šveřepa said: “It is always a pleasure and an honour to participate in these conversations with self-advocates, family members, and everyone else on the Board. So much experience and resilience around the table.”
