The Self-Determination Academy project partners met in Dublin, Ireland, to continue developing a training for young adults with autisma and with intellectual disabilities. As I Am hosted their meeting.

Before the meeting, the project partners spoke with young people with and without disabilities, as well as professionals. This helped to understand better about things like like self-determination, communication, rights, and participation.

The meeting focused on creating the training:

  • Course design,
  • Key topics,
  • Participants,
  • Part of the training where young people will plan and try out their own advocacy actions.

Learning from self-advocates

When in Dublin, Inclusion Europe met with our members Inclusion Ireland.

They spoke about independent living, discrimination, and what speaking up looks like in daily life.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.
